J.H. Rose is 0-10 against South Central since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Rampants will look to defend their home field against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
J.H. Rose's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over Northside - Jacksonville. Considering the Rampants have won ten contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Ava Credle made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Aniyah Hardy was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Caroline Alford was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.
J.H. Rose always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, South Central waltzed into their match on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Everything went their way against the Panthers as they made off with a 7-1 win.
Hailey Mickey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits.
At the plate, Blaire Adee was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailey Garner, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
South Central's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for J.H. Rose, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. J.H. Rose has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. However, it's not like South Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .432. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
