The Tussey Mountain Titans will head out to square off against the Southern Huntingdon County Rockets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern Huntingdon County took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Tussey Mountain, who comes in off a win.
Tussey Mountain gave up the first runs last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Claysburg-Kimmel. That's two games straight that the Titans have won by exactly ten runs.
Jack Stoudnour was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Landon Myers and Connor Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Myers got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and two runs, while Jones scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Jones a new career-high in RBI (three). Ben Kormanski was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Tussey Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Claysburg-Kimmel only posted an OBP of .320.
Meanwhile, Southern Huntingdon County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 23-6 to Fannett Metal.
Southern Huntingdon County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Creswell, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another was Garrett Boden, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Tussey Mountain's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Southern Huntingdon County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Everything went Tussey Mountain's way against Southern Huntingdon County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Tussey Mountain made off with a 17-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tussey Mountain since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
