The biggest upset of the week belonged to South Iredell, who took down 76th ranked South Iredell, 31-21.
Draughn was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in 2A Catawba Valley. Earlier in the week, the Wildcats triumphed over West Caldwell 49-7.
South Iredell's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Vikings feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Davin King has thrown for 1305 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Michael Fisher has 33 catches for 461 yards. Rasheed Degree leads the league in rushing with 663 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Maiden takes on Draughn. The Blue Devils are currently in third, while Scott Lambert's team is in fifth.
Newton-Conover extended the longest winning streak in 2A Catawba Valley this week by beating the Vikings, 31-21. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Red Devils.
