This season hasn't been kind to the Gibbon Buffaloes, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They took a serious blow against Arcadia/Loup City on Friday, falling 53-11. Gibbon has not had much luck with Arcadia/Loup City recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Gibbon struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Arcadia/Loup City racked up 12 assists.
Arcadia/Loup City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eva Jaixen led the charge by scoring 14 points along with nine steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Jaixen has scored at least 25% of Arcadia/Loup City's points. Another player making a difference was Tayler Obermiller, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Gibbon's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Arcadia/Loup City, their victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3.
Gibbon will take on Silver Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Silver Lake's defense has only allowed 26 points per game this season, so Gibbon's offense will have their work cut out for Gibbon. Arcadia/Loup City won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Central Valley at 2:00 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Central Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday.
