Heritage Christian is 10-0 against St. Francis since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Heritage Christian Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the St. Francis Mariners at 7:15 p.m. Hopefully Heritage Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Heritage Christian suffered a tough 70-48 loss at the hands of Delavan-Darien. Heritage Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-20.
Despite the loss, Heritage Christian had strong showings from Morgan Bluhm, who scored 15 points along with seven steals, and Lyndsay Laakso, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Laakso scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amanda Pike, who scored nine points along with five assists.
St. Francis has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 21 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Carmen Northwest 64-35 at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for St. Francis.
This is the second loss in a row for Heritage Christian and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for St. Francis, they pushed their record up to 5-5 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Everything went Heritage Christian's way against St. Francis in their previous meeting back in February as Heritage Christian made off with a 59-37 victory. Does Heritage Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. Francis turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
