Somerset Academy saw some tournament action  on Monday. They fell  60-53 to the Mountain Brook Spartans.  Defeat or not, Somerset Academy got some senior leadership from  Christian Smith and  Xavier Anderson.  Smith  went 8 of 16  on his way to 19 points and five  rebounds, while  Anderson  went 6 of 11  on his way to 16  points and four  steals. Anderson is  on a roll when it comes to  steals, as he's  now  grabbed three or more in the last three games he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jahlon Blain, who  posted seven points and five  assists.
Somerset Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Mountain Brook, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last ten contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record  this season.
 Somerset Academy will head out to  challenge Miramar  at 7:30  p.m.  on January 7th. As for Mountain Brook, they will look to defend their home court  on Friday against McAdory  at 5:30  p.m. Mountain Brook is coming into the  matchup hot, having won their last six games.
