Two dominant signal callers in Tremaine Hughes Jr. and Jp Pickles are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The St. John Paul II Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the North Florida Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but St. John Paul II had no problem doing just that on Friday. They secured a 42-37 W over the Marauders. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Meanwhile, North Florida Christian can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They really took it to Munroe for the full four quarters, racking up a 47-7 win at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-0.
Pickles was his usual excellent self, throwing for 292 yards and three touchdowns, while also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Joshua Schuchts made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
North Florida Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Brady Warmack was especially locked on to Munroe's QB and sacked him twice.
St. John Paul II has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 5-6 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.0 points per game. As for North Florida Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.
St. John Paul II didn't have too much breathing room in their match against North Florida Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, but they still walked away with a 41-35 win.
