Even though the Langley Saxons scored an imposing 55 points on Monday, the Yorktown Patriots still came out on top. Yorktown snuck past Langley with a 59-55 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Yorktown.
Yorktown found their leader in underclassman Jake Coulam, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Coulam has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Pilot, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Yorktown now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Langley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Yorktown will head out on the road to face off against Herndon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Langley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wakefield at 7:30 p.m. Wakefield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Langley in Virginia (Wakefield is ranked 47th, while Langley is ranked 140th).
