This is the second state crown for St. John Bosco, which won a Division II title in 2014 with Tyler Dorsey, Daniel Hamilton, Billy Preston and Jordan Bell.
To get here, St. John Bosco won a 71-68 thriller In the Southern California regional championship over Mission League rival Mater Dei (Santa Ana).
At one point in the first quarter Friday, the Braves went on an 11-0 run to take a 13-2 lead before grabbing a 28-11 advantage into the second quarter.
The No. 1 ranked sophomore in the country, according to 247Sports,
Brandon McCoy Jr. and four-star junior
Elzie Harrington took matters into their own hands in the third quarter up 46-40. Each had a dunk and the two helped propel the Braves on a 9-2 run to take a 55-42 lead.
"I just feel like my teammates hype me up on crazy plays," McCoy said. "When we play with good energy, we usually win, that definitely helped us.
Harrington had 12 points and seven assists, several of those to senior guard
Jack Turner, who had 20 points.
"We have a family here, Turner said. "Just working hard everyday and winning with them is a great feeling."
St. John Bosco pulled away in the second half and extended its lead to 15 before pulling out the 16-point victory.
McCoy had four points after the first half and went on a second-half tear. He finished with 18 points, eight rebounds and three blocks and put the finishing touches on the game with a slam dunk.
"I'm coaching a special player," Bosco head coach Matt Dunn said about McCoy. "A lot of those dunks were one-on-four fast breaks. For me, the blocked shots stand out to me the most. I don't really know where he comes from. We are spoiled."

Down 28-11, the Wolves stepped on the gas, cutting the deficit to eight points at halftime.
Junior
Luke Isaak led the way for San Ramon Valley, scoring 18 points, with 15 in the second half. Fellow junior
Mason Thomas was right behind him at 13 points.
"This entire season has been an amazing experience with these guys," San Ramon Valley coach Brian Botteen said. "I'm proud of everything they've done and the fight that they showed there. They've done our community proud, they've done their school proud. These kids are heroes to kids in their community."
Wolves senior
Seamus Deely did a little bit of everything for San Ramon Valley by contributing eight points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Deely was one of those kids who remembered nearly a decade ago when San Ramon Valley went to the state finals and won in 2015.
"I'm choking up," Deely said. "I remember my sister in 2014, she used to take me to games. You see everyone play, you see the dunks, the highlights, the love everyone has for each other and you want to be a part of it. Being able to come in for myself and be the next role model for these kids, to be that next group is pretty big."
