CC Hall was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Leicht, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Even though they lost, Perry hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in 19 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Queen Creek made easy work of Higley on Thursday and carried off a 15-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Emma Reynolds was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Layla Schaeffer was another key player, scoring four runs while going 2-for-4.
Queen Creek's victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Perry, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Perry has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455. However, it's not like Queen Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .455. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Perry's way against Queen Creek when the teams last played back in May of 2023, as Perry made off with a 12-3 victory. Does Perry have another victory up their sleeve, or will Queen Creek turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
