The Dougherty Valley Wildcats are taking a road trip to  take on the Hayward Farmers  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Dougherty Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14  runs per game  this season.
While Dougherty Valley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Washington on Monday as Dougherty Valley made off with  a  16-3 victory. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Wildcats.

 Katie Osborn made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  six innings while giving up  three earned runs off   four  hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave  her a new career-high in  strikeouts. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-5 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles. Those  doubles marked the first that  she  hit this season.
 In other batting news,  Laura Osborn was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI. She has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  home run the last three times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Marisa Rhee, who  scored three  runs while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances.
 Dougherty Valley  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington only posted  an  OBP of  .208.
 Meanwhile, Hayward fell victim to Newark Memorial and their airtight pitching crew  on Tuesday. They lost  29-0 to the Cougars. Sadly, the  loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.
 Dougherty Valley's record now sits at 4-1. As for Hayward, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
