Even though The Kingstree Blazers have not done well against the Timberland Wolves recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Kingstree narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Timberland 14-12. The victory was familiar territory for Kingstree who now have three in a row.
Ja'Shaun Dorsey threw for 76 yards and a touchdown. Xavier Dukes was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards. On the ground, Rodney Bryant rushed for 42 yards.
Kingstree's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-6. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Timberland, Lee Central, and Mullins. As for Timberland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
Coincidentally, Kingstree and Timberland will both be playing Andrew Jackson the next time they take the field. Kingstree will head out to face Andrew Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Kingstree will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m.
