It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Steinbrenner Warriors ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They managed a 44-38 victory over River Ridge. The win was familiar territory for Steinbrenner who now have seven in a row.
Danae Blacketer was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooke DiCampli, who scored four points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Steinbrenner's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. As for River Ridge, their loss ended a 21-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Steinbrenner and Sickles will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Sickles' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games. As for River Ridge, they will head out on the road to take on Boone at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Boone will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
