Antioch is 10-0 against North Chicago since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Antioch Sequoits will be playing at home against the North Chicago Warhawks at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Antioch has three straight victories, North Chicago has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Antioch was able to grind out a solid victory over Lakes, taking the game 50-40. Given Antioch's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Lakes is ranked 412th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Antioch found their leader in underclassman Heidi Rathmann, who scored 15 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Rathmann has scored at least 25% of Antioch's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Webb, who scored 8 points.
Meanwhile, North Chicago took a serious blow against Grant Community on Friday, falling 39-8.
Their wins bumped Antioch to 5-2 and Lakes to 3-3.
Everything came up roses for Antioch against North Chicago in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 62-8 victory. Does Antioch have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Chicago turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
