Even though Central Jersey College Prep has not done well against Somerset Tech recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Central Jersey College Prep wrapped up 2023 with a 77-58 win over Somerset Tech. Central Jersey College Prep's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Central Jersey College Prep found their leader in underclassman Carter Staton, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds. The match was Staton's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Javan Edmunds, who scored 13 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, North Warren Regional waltzed into their matchup Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 51-40 win over Perth Amboy Vo-Tech.
The victory makes it two in a row for Central Jersey College Prep and bumps their season record up to 2-2. As for North Warren Regional, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
