Woodstown (N.J.) extended its winning streak to six games with a 20-8 victory over
Gloucester Catholic (Gloucester City, N.J.) on Saturday.
After nabbing the lead on a
Michael Davis touchdown run, the Rams went into halftime with a 8-7 lead. The Wolverines scored the winning points with a touchdown that came in the third quarter.
Gloucester Catholic's only touchdown came on a 3-yard run by Davis in the first quarter.
Woodstown had given up an average of 6.6 points prior to the contest.
The defeat comes as a step back for Gloucester Catholic, which notched a 14-7 victory over Highland Regional in its previous outing. The loss broke Gloucester Catholic's two-game winning streak.
In a non-conference game next week Woodstown (6-0) takes on Gloucester City, and Gloucester Catholic (3-3) will go up against Camden Catholic also in a non-conference game.
