Chiles is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Franklin County is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Timberwolves will host the Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Chiles 2.4, Franklin County 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Last Friday, Chiles made easy work of Altha and carried off an 11-1 victory. The Timberwolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Mackenzie Githens and Adelyn Matthews did most of the damage at the plate: Githens went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Matthews scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most hits Githens has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Josie Jordan, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Chiles hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Franklin County was able to grind out a solid win over Blountstown on Monday, taking the game 8-4.
Sarah Ham made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Peyton Jones was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Charity Larkin was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Chiles is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin County, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Chiles has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Franklin County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Chiles' way against Franklin County in their previous matchup back in March, as Chiles made off with a 9-3 victory. Will the Timberwolves repeat their success, or do the Seahawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
