White Pine let Kenna Brunson and Presley Skadburg run wild. Brunson went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Skadburg went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Cecilia Barbosa, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Needles had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-7 margin over the Bobcats. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 20 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Audrina Bullchild spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Peyton Jackson, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmerson Powell, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Needles hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in five consecutive games.
White Pine's victory bumped their record up to 17-14. As for Needles, their win bumped their record up to 26-6.
