The Claremore Christian Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Dove Science Academy Raptors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, Claremore Christian was beaten by the Eagles 63-27. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Claremore Christian in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Dove Science Academy, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They took a serious blow against Riverfield Country Day on Tuesday, falling 83-28. While losing is never fun, Dove Science Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 452nd, while the Ravens are ranked 141st).
Claremore Christian has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Dove Science Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Claremore Christian strolled past the Raptors in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 47-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Claremore Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
