Volleyball Recap: Mathews Makes It Five in a Row at Home

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Mathews and Bristol, and Mathews kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 3-0 win on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mathews had a senior duo take command as JOSSLYN COLES had nine digs and five aces and KAT ROWAN had 14 assists and 13 aces. Those 13 aces set a new season-high mark for ROWAN. ALIVIA TARR also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Mathews was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 26 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Mathews pushed their record up to 7-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Bristol, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Coming up, Mathews will challenge McKinley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bristol, they will host Lordstown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
