Mattanawcook will challenge Stearns/Schenck on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Stearns/Schenck will need to watch out since Mattanawcook have now posted big point totals in their last three contests.
Last Friday, Mattanawcook put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They took the game and then some with a 54-0 win over Ellsworth/Sumner. The rankings were on Mattanawcook's side, but they didn't forecast quite such a lopsided result.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Stearns/Schenck, and their contest last Friday only extended their streak of losses to four. They came up short against Houlton/Hodgdon/Greater Houlton Christian Academy, falling 6-14.
Mattanawcook's victory lifted them to 5-2 while Stearns/Schenck's defeat dropped them down to 1-6. We'll find out if Mattanawcook can add another positive mark to their record or if Stearns/Schenck can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Mattanawcook's step.
