Bandys has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Bunker Hill Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bandys focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Bandys earned a 49-37 win over Newton-Conover.
Rachel Anderson was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with six steals and five assists. She hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Vaughan, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Bunker Hill's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 56-31 loss at the hands of Newton-Conover. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Bunker Hill has suffered since December 8, 2023.
Bunker Hill's defeat came about despite a quality game from Damireona Burch, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Burch continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Bunker Hill struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Newton-Conover racked up 14 assists.
Bandys' victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Bunker Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Bandys hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 50.4 points per game. It's a different story for Bunker Hill, though, as they've been averaging only 37.2 points per game. The only thing between Bandys and another offensive beatdown is Bunker Hill. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Everything went Bandys' way against Bunker Hill in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as Bandys made off with a 52-26 victory. Does Bandys have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bunker Hill turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
