They took a 41-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Odyssey Charter School on Thursday. Pineapple Cove Classical Academy has struggled against Odyssey Charter School recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Odyssey Charter School found their leader in underclassman Natalia DeJesus-Bruno, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that DeJesus-Bruno scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Talyssa Hilaire, who scored nine points.
Pineapple Cove Classical Academy's loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-12-1. As for Odyssey Charter School, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pineapple Cove Classical Academy and St. Edward's will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Odyssey Charter School won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pine at 4:00 p.m. on January 12th. Pine presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Odyssey Charter School in Florida (Pine is ranked 182nd, while Odyssey Charter School is ranked 606th).
