St. Stephen's & St. Agnes is 8-2 against Georgetown Prep since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Saints will head out on the road to take on the Georgetown Prep Little Hoyas at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Sunday, St. Stephen's & St. Agnes beat Salesianum 64-51. The victory was all the more spectacular given St. Stephen's & St. Agnes' disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 39th in Virginia, while Salesianum is ranked third in Delaware).
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrew Ross out in front who scored 17 points along with two steals. Ross continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Jacobs, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Georgetown Prep waltzed into their game on Sunday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They secured a 61-57 W over Miller School of Albemarle.
The victory makes it two in a row for St. Stephen's & St. Agnes and bumps their season record up to 9-7. As for Georgetown Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes beat Georgetown Prep 66-55 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Will St. Stephen's & St. Agnes repeat their success, or does Georgetown Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
