Burley is 2-8 against Minico since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Bobcats will head out to take on the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Burley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
While Burley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Jerome a 10-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Bobcats have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mack Haynes and Ike Redder made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Haynes tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Redder tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Haynes went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple, while Redder scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Those three RBI gave Haynes a new career-high.
In other batting news, Casen Cooper was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Minico started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Marsh Valley. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 10-9 on Tuesday.
Like Burley, Minico also got a great game from a two-way player: Noah Rich. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rich was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
In other pitching news, Minico got a good showing from Braxon Trenkle, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Trenkle gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had over his last five games.
Back at the plate, Dominic Garza was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Cody Carlson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Burley pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Minico, their record is now 5-7.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Burley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like Minico struggles in that department as they've averaged .325. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Burley couldn't quite get it done against Minico in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
