The West-Oak Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Walhalla, falling 61-28. West-Oak was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-6.
When it comes to explaining why West-Oak lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lucas Towe. Despite the final result, he scored four points along with 13 rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Crompton, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, West-Oak smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
West-Oak has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Walhalla, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West-Oak will take on Crescent at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crescent is on a four-game streak of home losses, West-Oak a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Walhalla's road trip will continue as they head out to face Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. One thing working in Seneca's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
