The Falcon Falcons fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against The Classical Academy Titans on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Titans 50-46. Falcon has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Macey Fothergill, who scored seven points along with five steals. Fothergill is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Howard, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Alaina Bonacquista continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for The Classical Academy, scoring 16 points along with five assists and three steals. Bonacquista hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Ellery Grebenik was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Falcon has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for The Classical Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Falcon on the road again on Friday and play against Coronado at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Coronado focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Saturday. As for The Classical Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Rampart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
