The Waverly Vikings's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Hastings Tigers at 12:00 p.m. on December 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Waverly is ranked 148th, while Hastings is ranked 126th).
Last Friday, Waverly ended up a good deal behind Norris and lost 55-40. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Waverly in their matchups with Norris: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Waverly got a solid performance out of Keaton Rine, who scored 15 points. Rine continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Maahs, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Hastings' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 47-37 to Bennington.
Waverly's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Hastings, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Waverly beat Hastings 57-48 in their previous meeting back in February. Does Waverly have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hastings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
