The Conrad Chargers lost against the Poteet Pirates back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Conrad fell 46-33 to the Pirates. Conrad has struggled against the Pirates recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Conrad's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brian Singleton, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Marion Belleh was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Conrad has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-15 record this season. As for Poteet, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conrad will challenge the Wranglers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Mesquite will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Poteet, they will head out on the road to face off against the Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Seagoville is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60 points per game this season.
