This season hasn't been kind to the Keys Gate Knights, who are still winless after their 12th match. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 52-27 walloping at the hands of Downtown Doral on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Keys Gate has suffered since December 1, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Downtown Doral to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrea Mole, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mole has scored all season. Gabriela Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Keys Gate dropped their record down to 0-12 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.1 points per game. As for Downtown Doral, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Keys Gate will head out on the road to square off against St. Brendan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Brendan has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Downtown Doral, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Florida Christian at 3:30 p.m. Hopefully Florida Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday.
