Valle Catholic barely beat Marquand-Zion the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors beat the Tigers on Saturday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Valle Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Marquand-Zion, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valle Catholic will welcome North County at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marquand-Zion, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against DeSoto at 4:30 p.m. The Dragons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
