It was a good run, but the Highland Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 58-47 to North Newton. Highland lost against North Newton in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 49-48 score last time.
Despite the loss, Highland still got an impressive performance from Justin Pack, who scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Kristijan Zekavica, who scored 6 points along with 3 steals.
Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for North Newton, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland will take on Illiana Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Illiana Christian is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. North Newton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Winamac at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th.
