The Kaneland Knights will challenge the Aurora Central Catholic Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Kaneland and Morris, and Kaneland kept the tradition alive. The Knights walked away with a 9-6 win over the Redskins on Monday. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly three runs.

Brynn Woods was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run.
In other batting news, Angelina Campise was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Maddie Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Aurora Central Catholic made easy work of Geneva on Tuesday and carried off a 17-5 victory. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by six runs or more this season.
Corina Miller looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ashley Moore, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Morgan Vaghy was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Aurora Central Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.
Kaneland is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Aurora Central Catholic, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-8.
Kaneland took their win against Aurora Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in May of 2018 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
