Blanco and Llano are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blanco has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Blanco couldn't beat Ingram Moore on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Panthers came up short against the Warriors, falling 14-6. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kinley Boyd spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and ten unearned) runs on nine hits.
On the hitting side, Blanco saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Barrett Sykes, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Llano had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Bobcats/Deer as they made off with an 18-12 win. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.
Emilie Clopton was incredible, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Madison Whittenburg, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.
Llano kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.
Blanco's loss dropped their record down to 7-12-1. As for Llano, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Blanco hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Llano struggles in that department as they've averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Blanco got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 against Llano by a conclusive 17-2 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
