The Armwood Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 58-48 to Hillsborough. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Armwood of the 58-37 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Armwood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Talon Mckinnie. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Bernadin, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Armwood has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Hillsborough, they pushed their record up to 7-9 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Armwood will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against East Bay at 8:00 p.m. on January 16th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Aaron Quarterman and Mckinnie. As for Hillsborough, they will head out on the road to challenge Alonso at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
