Hewitt-Trussville extended their postseason success on Monday against Vestavia Hills. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Rebels an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Huskies have won 18 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Zaylen Tucker was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Corey Goguts, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted over her last 13 contests.

The victory made it two in a row for Hewitt-Trussville and bumps their season record up to 29-15-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Vestavia Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-20-1.

Hewitt-Trussville has already played their next game, a 7-2 loss against Hoover on the 28th. Vestavia Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
