Pottsville was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Maumelle. The Apaches came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 30 last week.
Pottsville extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region 4 this week by beating the Hornets, 33-0. The win marks eighth in a row for the Bryan Rust's team.
Pottsville's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Apaches feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Michael Perry has thrown for 549 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Tyler Weaver has 10 catches for 186 yards. Perry also leads the league in rushing with 988 yards.
Perry of the the Apaches is only 12 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bearcats take on Pottsville. As it stands, Booneville is in fourth, while the Apaches are in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Maumelle takes on Dardanelle. The Hornets have allowed 106 points this season, while the Sandlizards have given up 105. Maumelle allowed 33 points last week as it fell to Pottsville.
Mena led 4A Region 4 in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on Waldron.
