McLane put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Hoover Patriots 43-13. Given the Highlanders' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 169th, while the Patriots are ranked 603rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McLane to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vernon Lacy, who threw for 301 yards and five touchdowns while completing 72.4% of his passes. Lacy has been hot, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last six times he's played. Demetrius Simon was Lacy's top target, picking up 83 receiving yards and three scores.
