After flying high against Camden Academy Charter last Thursday, the Clayton Clippers came back down to earth. Clayton took a hard 49-33 fall against West Deptford on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Clayton has scored all season.
Rainelle Blocker and Deondria Simon certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Blocker scored nine points along with ten rebounds, while Simon scored two points along with seven rebounds. Blocker scored a full 27.3% of Clayton's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Clayton now has a losing record at 2-3. As for West Deptford, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clayton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Vineland at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th. Vineland is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for West Deptford, they will head out on the road to face off against Haddon Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
