Baseball Recap: Collinsville Extends Winning Streak to Four

Collinsville put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 10-2 margin over the Plainview Bears. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their two-run performance the match before.

Braxton Daugherty looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Cooper(Jameson) Coker was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. He also hit two hits, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gavin Lang, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Collinsville's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Plainview, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Collinsville will venture away from home to challenge Etowah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Plainview, they will head out to square off against Scottsboro at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
