Catholic Central came into Friday's contest having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Northwestern Warriors by a score of 50-41 on Friday. The Irish's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Catholic Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Danaysha Dearmond, who posted 17 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Liliana Roberts, who put up 14 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Catholic Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Northwestern saw an underclassman step up: freshman Peyton Roseberry almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Shaw, who had three points.

Catholic Central's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Northwestern, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Catholic Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 46-36 loss against Triad on the 28th. As for Northwestern, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-28 defeat against Oakwood on the 30th.
