The Effingham County Rebels posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They really took it to South Effingham for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-27 victory on the road. With Effingham County ahead 31-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
South Effingham's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Corey Woods, who scored four points along with four steals, and Jaquan Albright who scored three points along with five steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Albright posted two or more blocks.
The victory makes it two in a row for Effingham County and bumps their season record up to 8-8. As for South Effingham, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Effingham County will head out on the road to challenge Lakeside at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeside has insisted on making their lastfour contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-3 during that stretch of close contests. South Effingham won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Grovetown at 3:30 p.m. on January 20th. Grovetown is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
