The Tarboro Vikings suffered their biggest defeat since November 30, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Washington County, falling 75-42. Tarboro was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-9.
It was another big night for Aaliyah Carter, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 steals for Washington County. Carter is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ke'Myia Young, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Tarboro's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Washington County, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tarboro will square off against SouthWest Edgecombe at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Washington County, they will head out on the road to square off against Bertie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bertie is on a four-game streak of home losses, Washington County a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
