Rabun Gap-Nacoochee pushed the score to 46-25 by the end of the third, a deficit Asheville School (Independent) cut but never quite recovered from.
Despite the loss, Asheville School (Independent) still got an impressive performance from Ryann Hernandez, who scored 29 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Hernandez is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carmen Perez-aparicio, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and two blocks.
Rabun Gap-Nacoochee's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Asheville School (Independent), their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
Rabun Gap-Nacoochee will head out on the road to challenge Legion Collegiate Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Asheville School (Independent), they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tabernacle Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Tabernacle Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Asheville School (Independent) is ranked 94th).
