Meanwhile, Franklin County had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Northeastern on Saturday, sneaking past 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted against the Knights since May 3, 2017.
Owen Baker looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
At the plate, Braylon Kruthaupt was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Franklin County is 4-2 when Kruthaupt posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-7 otherwise. Blake Stephenson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Lawrenceburg pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin County, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
