Thomas Sorg and Tavian Neal provided fans with a highlight when they connected against El Dorado Springs. The connection was good for 94 yards, the longest such play in Freelance this season.
Hogan Prep Charter extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Soldan International Studies, 38-14. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Rams.
Central's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Sorg threw for 397 and six touchdowns and Neal had 231 yards receiving. On the ground Secoy Hodges chipped in 58 yards. Joe Sparks helped Central's passing attack out by catching three balls for 65 yards.
Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Sorg has thrown for 801 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Neal has 16 catches for 373 yards. Hodges leads the league in rushing with 396 yards.
The marquee game in Freelance this week will be the clash between Rock Bridge and Rockhurst. The Bruins enters the contest ranked ninth in the state, while the Hawklets ranks fourth.
McDonald County made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,800 from 9,960. The improvement came about via a 50-27 victory over East Newton last week.
