The Takini Skyhawks pushed their score all the way to 67 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 70-67 to Bison, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Takini has suffered against the Cardinals since February 12, 2019.
Rylee Veal was his usual excellent self, scoring 34 points along with seven rebounds and two steals for Bison. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Veal has scored at least a third of Bison's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Stadler, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Takini has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Bison, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-10.
Takini is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Tigers at 5:15 p.m. on February 8th. As for Bison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
