MAIS AA District 3 recap September 10, 2013
Riverfield Academy took down Riverdale Academy 48-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
River Oaks made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,178 from 10,077. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 41-24 victory over Glenbrook last week.
The Apaches' dynamic duo of Regan Edwards and Arthur Jones proved tough for the Mustangs to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Edwards threw for 207 yards and 3 touchdowns and Jones had 80 yards receiving. Logan Clark helped Glenbrook's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 54 yards.
Glenbrook's dynamic duo of Edwards and Jones proved to be unstoppable against River Oaks, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Garrett Morgan was the best running back in MAIS AA District 3 this week. He ran for 139 yards on 14 carries as Robert Hannah's team fell to Robert Hannah's team. Drake Porter also contributed to the rushing game with 96 yards on the ground.
He went 13-17 with 1 interceptions.
Edwards put up the best numbers through the air as the Apaches fell to the Mustangs.
Jones was the best wideout in the league this week as Glenbrook fell to River Oaks.
The Apaches' Edwards and Clark have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Edwards has thrown for 609 yards this season, while Clark has 7 catches for 194 yards. Morgan from the Mustangs leads the league in rushing with 266 yards.
The Raiders led MAIS AA District 3 in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on the Rebels.
