After flying high against the Mannford Pirates last Thursday, The McLoud Redskins came back down to earth. McLoud had to suffer through a rough 42-3 loss at the hands of Kingfisher. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for McLoud in their matchups with Kingfisher: they've now lost five in a row.
Kaden Mendenhall threw for 121 yards on 11 of 21 attempts. Zaylun Matlock was his top target, picking up 80 receiving yards. On the ground, Kaiden Cue rushed for 35 yards.
McLoud now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Kingfisher, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McLoud will challenge Perkins-Tryon on Friday. Perkins-Tryon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than McLoud in Oklahoma (Perkins-Tryon is ranked 35th, while McLoud is ranked 147th). As for Kingfisher, they will head out on the road to face off against North Rock Creek on Friday. North Rock Creek will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
