The biggest upset of the week belonged to Live Oak, who defeated 521st ranked Leigh, 20-19. Trevor Bearden ran for 249 yards during the win.
Westmont's Mark Derobertis rumbled for the longest rushing play in Santa Teresa this season in his game against Evergreen Valley last week. Derobertis' team defeated the Cougars as he sprinted for 80 yards on the play and finished with 155 in all.
Westmont's dynamic duo of AJ Mintz and Dominique Frazier proved to be unstoppable against Evergreen Valley, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Mintz threw for 105 yards and Frazier had 38 yards receiving. Tommy Ly helped Westmont's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 31 yards.
Bearden was a beast in the backfield as the Acorns topped the Longhorns.
Bearden provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Live Oak defeated Leigh.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Cole Griffin. The Live Oak star has 8 catches for 161 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Eric Buran's team takes on Lincoln. The Warriors are in first place, while the Lions are in sixth place.
Mike Gemo's team scaled the state rankings by moving to 534 from 632 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Acorns climbed the ranks as a result of beating Kyle Padia's team 20-19.
